This certification program will give your customers peace of mind in knowing that your facility is certified as pet safe.The Pets-Safe program works by auditing your business premises and facilities and eliminating potential hazards which may cause injury or loss of life to a pet in your care. Once your business has successfully completed the program it will be certified as a safe place for pets and animals

With Pets-Safe the customer is guaranteed that every possible scenario is covered and only the best care will be given to their pets while in your professional care.

How it works
A 3:16 Projects auditor will come to your premises with a registered Vet. They will determine whether your business meets all safety regulations and requirements for the program. Once the audit is completed the findings with your score will be given to you. You will then have a set time to do adjustments to your facilities for certification, if required to do so. If the facility is considered safe by 3:16 Projects and Pets-Safe standards you will be given business certification for 1 year. Should your business re-locate the certification of the new facility will need to be re-assessed & re-evaluated completed again.
What will it costs to get Pets-Safe certification?
The program runs on a one year cycle.
First year certification is R2 300 (this is all inclusive with not additional costs)
Second year certification R1 900 (this is all inclusive with not additional costs)
Re-certification R 1050 (if your business moves/relocates , additional cost may apply)

- Ensure that ALL Pets are safe at ALL times - no compromises
- Pets must be able to to walk around freely and play. No pet must be locked up in a cage or tied up.
- ALL Pets must be treated with respect and never be abused.
- Pets must be allowed to be social.
- The facility must meet the need of every pet, regardless of its age. From a puppy to an older more mature pet.
- All hazards must be removed from the facility. This includes poisonous plants and any other dangers/threats to the safety of a pet or a member of the public.
- Person's looking after the pets must be fully trained and have knowledge about different pets and their individual needs. No unqualified staff member should ever be allowed to look after a pet while in your care.
- Pets must have fun. The facility must be designed in such a way that pets can play in an open space with only approved “pet safe toys”.
- Staff members working at the facility must undergo a PEPT or "Psychological Employment Profile Test” exclusively available through 316 Projects. The outcome will determine whether a staff member is competent to care and love a pet while in your care, as set out in the Pets-Safe standards.
